Gil posted a comment on the group The Surround Group:
For me it would depend on the genre, and if I was convinced that surround was suitable for the purpose. The main question regarding what to do on a surround mix, essentially falls on where you want to put the listener. In classical ...

Hi Gil,

Interesting info on mics. The DPA's are indeed good on piano. Used them in the IJ Theatre
Amsterdam. Incidently, there were some "heated" peer discussions a few years ago about
the DPA 4060 omni's (high sens) in a main overhead sit. Well all I can say from experience
that these 5mm mic's work extremely well. I used them (5) overhead in the Concertgebouw
Amsterdam with a Studer 961 and ProTools/mac. Clean dynamic sound, takes tweaking the
the gain and position before rehearsals.

Thanks for the comments regarding the weblink, Gil. I will look forward to seeing the APRS site and all the creatives involved mutually develop their plans for a better future.
My link to APRS goes way back to University days and I visited the APRS show. I've been involved in many aspects of the creative arts, entertainment and media since then. Only recently signed up for the newsletter, and will consider membership when funds allow.
Thanks again for the support.
Happy creating !
